This project responds to frequent flooding in rural Fiji by reconnecting isolated communities with a multifunctional bridge. More than just a crossing, it includes a market, education space, health clinic, and event area to support the community before, during, and after disasters. Inspired by traditional Fijian architecture, the design is both practical and culturally grounded.

The design process began with an intensive site analysis, which shaped every aspect of the project. Drawing from both traditional Fijian architecture and modern structural systems, I explored how local materials could be reimagined to serve contemporary community needs. This informed a series of design iterations that blended cultural identity with resilience, resulting in a structure that is both grounded in place and adaptable for future flooding challenges.
